Get Involved!
Love Charis Camp? Looking for opportunities to get involved and add a bit of yourself to the legacy and history of Charis Camp? There are always more things to do than people to do them and we are always looking for volunteers to come out and help us get things done! So, take a look below and see what's going on at the camp these days and what projects we have going. Then, get in touch with us and we'll set it up for you to come up and take part. We would love to have you up for a day or even more!
Tabernacle Restoration
We're restoring the old tabernacle! It's been on the site since our inception in 1947 and we're ready and anxious to bring it back! A local business has generously donated the materials for a new roof but we need volunteers to help put it up! We'll also be cleaning out the interior and doing a bit of winterizing to make the building usable year-round! We have huge plans for this piece of our heritage! This will be taking place in April.
Staff Housing
We have a few small things left to do on the Chalet, so if you're handy person that's good with doors, baseboard and other finishing projects we'd love to have you come help us finish off the staff housing in the basement of our lodge! Our executive director Darren Duncalfe will be using it whenever he (and his family ) are in town.
Dining Hall Renovation
Charis continues to grow and we need more room for all the hungry guests to have their meals so we're going to be renovating part of the downstairs of the dining hall to make a second dining room. We'll need plenty of hands to rip down, tear up, rebuild and refinish!
